Fiedler & Lundgren – the second largest Snus manufacturer from Sweden
The story of the second largest Snus manufacturer today, Fiedler & Lundgren, started in 1783. It was the master tailor Samuel Fiedler, who travelled to Gothenburg to obtain a permission from the city fathers to produce Snus. About half a decade later, in 1835, the company Fiedler & Lundgren was founded. The company ever since put a high emphasis on meeting its own strict quality standards. With the help of about 100 employees, Fiedler & Lundgren is producing 22 tons of its high-quality Snus annually. In 1915, Fiedler & Lundgren opposed the ongoing monopolization in Sweden and therefore moved their production to Denmark. 88 years later, in 2002, Fiedler & Lundgren moved back to Sweden, this time not to Gothenburg, but to Malmö. Starting production in a former factory building, the company again quickly established itself as a respectable producer of high quality Snus. Their stunning success resulted in Fiedler & Lundgren being bought up by British American Tobacco (BAT). The most popular brands by Fiedler & Lundgren are Mocca and Granit, both of excellent quality and available in different variations. Fiedler & Lundgren only uses the highest leaves of the tobacco plant, as those show just the right strength and essential oil content needed for their superior products.
