Some nicotine pouches and snus are available for cheaper because their expiration date is either coming or has passed. These dates are always marked on product pages and the can, but how important are expiration dates when it comes to snus and nicotine pouches?
Most people think that once an expiration date has come and gone, a product needs to be thrown away. That is certainly the mantra with food products, but nicotine pouches and snus are different.
The expiration date is more of a guide as to when to use your products for the best possible experience. Once this date has passed, it is not dangerous to your health to use these products. What may happen is that the flavor and nicotine quality have diminished, so this is why you would ideally use them before the date has passed.
A loss of moisture is the biggest factor when it comes to a product losing its consistency. Therefore, you need to find a way to keep your products’ water levels intact.
A refrigerator is the best place to keep your nicotine pouches or snus because it keeps products between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius, which are the perfect conditions.
If you know you won’t be using the products for a while, you can keep them in the freezer for up to 12 months. However, make sure you keep the cans airtight while frozen, and properly defrost them before usage so that you can enjoy your nicotine pouches or snus to their maximum potential.
